2020 HIndsight: Kassidy vs. Alexa

Whelp, I guess this is just a reflective time in my life for the next week to ten days.  A lot going on.  7/14/2020 was the return of something I never thought I would see again.  We spent the 186th day at a softball game (after a frenetic time at work trying to complete things so that I could leave early for the game).  Anna and Alexa got to play together, for the first of the last three games, with their HS teammates on a Blue and Gold Team (USSSA game, not HS).  It was fun to watch, even if the results were not what we had wanted.  But it did give me my 2020 Hindsight.  Because, for the last time in their careers it was Kassidy vs. Alexa.  Now, they still have the summer to play on the Mustangs together.  But today, it was Kassidy with the Green Wave and Alexa with the Blue and Gold.  For SO many years I watched them play on the same team: for soccer, for field hockey, for basketball, for softball, heck, even for the ol' Oaklyn Breakers Swim Team.  And then, Kass school choiced to Audubon and, for a few days each season, they were opponents.  But it never hurt their friendship and that makes me happy.  So here's to the games where one of them was sad and the other happy (as opposed to sharing the same emotion, as teammates).  And here's to opposing families sitting in the stands and not worrying that their kids were on different teams.  And here's to the rest of the Summer where we can watch them playing together a few more times.  Because this was the last game against.  Ever.  Wow.
