2020 Hindsight: Musical Memories

Have you ever heard a song on the radio and suddenly you are transported back in time, in your memories, to a place where you either heard the song for the first time or when it was playing during a memorable time in your life?  On the 200th day of 2020 (that's a LOT of 2s), this happened to me MANY times.  Because, on 7/18/2020, I built an Apple Music Playlist of 8+ hours of songs to play during Alexa's Graduation Party.  It's a long playlist, but not that many people will hear much of it since this is an outdoor (man, will it be hot), masked, distanced, drop-in event.  But Sarah, Alexa, Anna, and I will be here the whole time so I wanted us not to have to hear music in a loop.  So, as I added songs I was transported to times and places in my memory. And it was fun.  Like Alexa's second concert (the first I took her to), Payphone by Maroon 5.  The State Championship Softball Tournament in the Summer of 2018 (Despacito).  Dancing with my mom at my wedding (What a Wonderful World).  And many, many more (I tried to put on the #1 song from each of her birthdays as well.  Music is amazing and can take us places in our minds that we have been and, sometimes, places we have never even been.  My 2020 Hindsight is Musical Memories.  Here's to 18+ years of memories with Alexa and anticipation for the creation of many, many more.  Hopefully all to an amazing soundtrack.
